Cley Windmill
'Stop..! STOP!! I know it's raining!! I'll just drop the window put the camera out and get a blip - it's nearly dark for goodness sake! OMG window up........ I'm getting drenched... it's blowing this way. I'm soaked!'
We are staying the weekend in the floor that is lit up - the Wheat Room which is round on the third floor and I'm writing this next to a beam that is engraved with 1713 so you can tell the kind of place it is.
Here from medieval times the town of Cley used to export wool and grain and the windmill dates back to 1700's. It was first offered for sale in June 1819 and then changed hands numerous times converting over the years to a gorgeous, atmospheric place to stay with a fabulous cosy atmosphere. Am downstairs in the dining room as the internet isn't available because of the thickness of the walls upstairs annoying the hell out of the lady who wants to lay the tables for dinner :)) Not that she actually complained at all :)
