Blooming marvellous!

This rose really is blooming marvellous. It was in the garden when we arrived over 15 years ago and survived being moved, rather roughly, by our builders . Today it is showing just how hardy it is by continuing to bloom ,whatever the weather throws at it in the way of cold and wet. It does look good large, bejewelled with raindrops, think.

Backblipping to try and catch up this week after a power cut on Wednesday. We realised the power was off at around 4am, reported it and had engineers on the job before 6am. Can't fault them at all, working in horrible weather conditions until the power was restored by late afternoon.
It brought home to us, though, just how much we rely on electricity , so many things we can't do without it - no light, no heat (although we have some gas coal fires) no landline phones, no working at the PC, no washing of clothes, no tv or radio, limited cooking.... really quite scary !
