Selfie!!!

On the day that it was announced that The Oxford English Dictionary had declared 'selfie' to be the word of 2013, I really felt I had to take one. Actually, it was a day when I had no chance of taking my usual shots of countryside or natural history subjects. We went with a friend to visit the newly opened (after a very lengthy renovation and extension project) Higgins Museum in Bedford. It was fantastic! It shows just how brilliantly museum and art collections can be displayed with modern spaces and technology. However, this shot was taken in the old house where the Higgins family lived, next to the exhibition spaces. This mirror has seen better days, but I was pleased to have my image partially disrupted by marks of aging and decay, whilst the frame is suitably grand!
