My street...
Matron has lost her passport! And as a result has not come over to play. We are mostly disappointed as we had lots of gorgeous things planned for our weekend together but also, if we're honest, just a little bit relieved that we can now chill and just be as Kuifje has had a week from hell and could do with some TLC.
I know I am about 2 months behind everyone else, but I started to make a Christmas cake today. The kitchen smells divine - all orange-zesty-boozey yumminess! It is a gift for the Swiss contingency - as what do you buy the people who have everything?!? - this year I decided not to buy 'stuff' but just to take them a home-made Christmas cake... We shall wait to see whether it turns out quite the way I imagine it will!
The Boy has gone to stay with Chicken Boy for the weekend, on a farm with 250,000 chickens - who will apparently produce 1,500,000 eggs this weekend. The chickens, not the boys. Clearly. He seems to be having fun which is perfect. The Girl is spending a lot of time drinking coffee with a rather sweet Norwegian...she is being cagey...curiouser and curiouser...
I have resisted the Oliebollen hut all week...tomorrow is the day...am beyond excited. Maybe my father was right all along - the pleasure is in the wanting...
Life is good...x
