Flower sellers in Jaipur
Jaipur is the largest city we have visited so far. The traffic is heavy, even in the centre of the market. We spent time this evening photographing as the daylight disappeared and the lights from shops and traffic illuminated faces and gave glimpses into life at that time of night.
Near Hindu temples there are always flower sellers and these two had a pitch just on the pavement by a busy road. I had to wait for passers by to move on so as to use the light from the market behind me. The girls were good at sitting still, so I used a slower shutter speed to blur the traffic.
Tomorrow we will visit the fort of the "pink city". The name derives from the terracotta colour of houses and the red sandstone, which glows in the sunshine.
