Schoenstatt

Beautiful blue skies and a deep frost greeted us this morning. It was too good a day to stay at home so we took a trip to the Campsie Fells and visited Schoenstatt, a retreat and pilgrimage centre run by the Sisters of Mary. Schoenstatt is named after a small village in Germany and means literally 'beautiful place'. From the little chapel near the main centre to the walks through the adjoining grounds, it certainly lived up to its name. I even found myself getting quite chilled ... and not just from the frost!

"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart."
(Helen Keller)
