Made for music

I went to Glasgow today to visit the Country Living Country Fair and in doing so passed the brand new concert hall which was 'christened' in style at the end of September with a Rod Stewart concert. It is built on former dockland ground and its huge elliptical shape is apparently modelled on the Greek ampitheatre to give optimum spectator enjoyment. It bizarrely reminds me of the Michelin man adverts and it seems that special film originally developed for the space industry has been used on the cushion shaped outer structure to provide optimum light inside the building. Here you can see a tiny part of the side and I liked the way it reflected some of the buildings in front of it.
