Away fixture

We all have to run an extra curricular activity after school which Ben is in charge of organising. Somehow I got girls' football. We started off with one team and now we have an under 15 and over 15 team. This was our away fixture at the Prince of Wales Island International School. It is in a place called Balik Pilau which means 'back of the island' in Malay. There are some very windy roads and half way through our 90 minute journey we got a call to say the match was cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch. We had a team vote and decided to carry on and see what it was like when we arrived. The pitch was very wet and muddy so half of the girls just did a few dainty kicks and screamed when they got covered in mud. The others fully embraced it and needed to wash the mud off under the outside tap before going in the beautiful school building to get changed.
Unfortunately we lost 2-1. Maybe next time...
