Afternoon Tea - California Style

Today was a good day.

I reached the end of a piece of work, feeling like it was a job well done. There was an early start and a morning's flurry of activity to fit with East Coast working days.

And then an unexpected gap. R finishes school early on a Friday and goes to hang out with friends, far, far away from parents.

So J and I went to the sports store (for me) to spend a voucher I'd been given, then to the kayak store at the harbor (for him) to gaze lovingly at beautiful wooden paddles.

And then it was warm enough to sit with tea and a blueberry scone watching the light at the harbor beach.
