Your Very Own Bridge

This is in honour of my Wee Auntie Margaret, whose birthday is this week, and who is one of my great role models.

I was the grumpy five-year-old bridesmaid, unsmiling in all of her wedding pictures. She used to turn up, glamorously, in her yellow MG Midget to take ten-year-old me skating, she tolerated fourteen-year-old me working in her shop on Saturdays and provided a home-from-home through university and beyond.

She took up riding as an adult and has just survived (on the wrong side of seventy) a fall from her horse that "only" resulted in a few pins in her leg.

So having her own bridge seems like a minor tribute!
