For Bessie

We had a very sad day yesterday. Bessie, my dear Godmother, died a few months into her 91st year. She enjoyed a good life and remained as sharp as a needle and living independently in her own home until the end. We shall miss her a very great deal.

To celebrate Bessie's 90th birthday we arranged for some trees to be planted in a new woodland in the Yorkshire Dales. I do hope that they will survive for many years to come, growing into beautiful mature trees such as this and bringing pleasure to generations to come.
