After the storm
We awoke this morning to crashing thunder and lightning and a rain and hail storm like we have not seen this year. We got 42 mm of rain before we even got out of bed. When it cleared a little, we went out to survey the damage. There were branches down all over and marks in the ground from where the water ran, but not too much else, thankfully. M took the opportunity to clear the gutters before the next storm hit and dropped 25mm on us. So, a pretty good result, considering how little rain we have had in the last months. Now, you wouldn't think it had been raining at all, except for the fact that the frogs are all singing in chorus. Tomorrow is supposed to be hot and sunny again. I got out for a walk this afternoon. 5 km and it was very pleasant and peaceful after all the dry heat we have been having. We have watched the Hunger Games on DVD tonight, I haven't got around to watching it before now... I'm not sure I enjoyed it, the brutality of the youngsters killing each other was a little unsettling. I think I will wait till the second one comes out on DVD instead of braving the cinema for it.
