Heartbeat

2nd day of in service and with the craft cupboard all cleared and sorted yesterday there were plenty of things to do today.

First up was this beating heart kit. The boys donned their painting overalls and we dyed water to make 'blood' which we pumped in and out of the 'heart'. We monitored out heart rates, learned about our resting pulse rate, ran on the spot for two minutes and then monitored our rates again.

Then after all that, we made some blood red pancakes and ate them all up.

In the afternoon I swopped my tesco vouchers for some cinema tickets and took the older too to see Turbo, leaving the littlest with my lovely husband for a wander around town.
