The round hatch that is propped up above the circle is usually down closing the hatch off. Inside the nose is the Radar, normally H2S but I'm not sure if it's still in there or whether it's the TFR (Terrain Following Radar) which XM569 was equipped with. The TFR antenna is housed in that extra dome on the front of the nose (not equipped on XH558 before you look).

One of the team, Dave West, got a light that can clip on and be bent to light up different areas so it's ideal for looking inside the radar housing.
