Golden Couple

Fifty years ago today my parents got hitched and we’ve had a lovely family celebration to mark the occasion. Among other things, my dad’s stag do the night before was memorable for the news of JFK’s assassination breaking during it. The day itself is also notable for the first episode of Dr Who being screened, so it was all happening! As my mum recalls, my dad was somewhat hungover during the wedding service but I don’t think he looks too rough in this (edible) picture, which my friend June incorporated into the yummy anniversary cake she made.
