Tui

On the Thursday night, instead of going all the way to Picton, we stopped off at the Mornington Vintners hotel near Blenheim. We had a lovely stay there including another fab meal. Also the wine I had with the meal was so nice we headed to the cellar door near by the nest morning to get a bottle to have with T and R. Another good ferry crossing and then we had some lovely venison sausages back at the house. A walk around the area delivered this shot of a Tui and we were delighted to get it as they are very elusive. There distinctive call has been the main instrument in the dawn chorus for us in both the north and south islands.
