The best day ever.......

This was something we had looked forward to for quite some time, and it was certainly worth waiting for. A very early start , we were picked up by our driver in a rickety rackety mini bus, that scared the life out of me ! We had four others to pick up, so at least we had company on our white knuckle ride. We had two hours of winding our way up into the hills. If you have ever been to Bali, you will understand about the traffic, if you haven't, then think yourself lucky . It was wonderful to see the countryside, the diversity of the towns, the cultures , the wildlife and the windy roads that made me feel ooooh soooo slightly wishing I was by the pool. BUT, we arrived at the Elephant Sanctuary, and It was soon forgotten. This was just the best day ever, we loved every minute , and these gentle creatures were on their best behaviour. We had a tour on the back of one, and then the rest of the morning was spent cuddling and feeding , and generally just being in awe of being able to be so close to these wonderful elephants. A day we will never forget.
