joyeux anniversaire

Spent the day cooking with Pierre's mum. We made our own puff pastry! Then, with the pastry, we made little anchovy matches (or allumettes d'anchois in French), sausage rolls and some with Comté cheese.

We had stuffed tomatoes for main and then I made lemon meringue pie for dessert. Here's Matthieu (Pierre's brother) blowing out his birthday candles with his little son, Léon, on his knee.

SHATTERED. We had been in the kitchen for about 6 hours by the time we sat down to eat. Between the two of us, that's 12 hours' work and all the food was gone so quickly!
