Contrasts

I had set aside some time for blipping today and ended up shooting a variety of subjects. The vast majority of the shots were disappointing; fortunately, I took a series of shots of a feather with my G10 which turned out reasonably well.

I like the contrast in textures in this shot. The soft and linear lines of the feather are so different from the rough and rocky ground.

Another interesting note is that this was taken with my G10 in macro mode. You can immediately see the difference of the depth of field. Small sensor cameras like the G10 always deliver a much greater depth of field than dSLRs.
