Crystal Leaves
I didn't go out this morning, despite getting up early to do so. Sometimes you don't feel focused - I didn't have a particular location in mind, nor any ideas of the shots I might get, so I decided to have a leisurely breakfast and then get some shots of the frost in the garden after the sun came up.
I was very glad I did, as the leaves in shadow were still covered in ice crystals, but there was enough light around to get a reasonable shutter speed with an acceptable ISO and some of the ice patterns were lovely. My blip today had the most interesting patterns.
The original picture included most of the leaf, but this is a crop as I wanted to show the amazing leaf-shaped crystals along the veins of the leaf. You should be able to see it in large, as I have now taken out full membership. I hope it doesn't lose too much detail.
Later in the morning I re-filled the feeder near the back door and set up the camera to catch any birds coming to it, but all I got was a couple of blue tits and a sparrow. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow after I've finished the recycling.
Hope you've all had a good weekend and haven't been too cold.
