Dead

Time in the garden this morning (after last nights fantastic drinks/dinner party round the corner), we dug out the badminton net once more and managed to have a few games in the cutting North wind.

The pond was rammed with leaves to the point of being more leaf then water when I saw one of our residents struggling just below the surface. I filled up a yellow trug and fished him out with a plantpot and sieve knowing full well at this point he was really not well. Having popped him in some clean water he 'coughed' up a lot of what looked like purple weed particles but remained very slow and groggy.

Looking at the pond water it was thick and grey and very smelly, almost toxic looking, with some form of purple weed growing amidst the normal weed. Unfortunately this one was already too far gone to save. Must clean the pond out now.

Managed to get a little tidyng done. Had a bin-fire in the eve.
