Old pubs

At a first glance, you could be mistaken for thinking this blip is a rather rubbish one, taken at the wrong angle, of a pub frontage.

Whilst it may still be rubbish, it is in fact about the pavement-access cellar doors. I can't remember what these are called but they were used in the past for beer deliveries. The driver drove the wagon to the kerb-side and dropped the barrels of beer through the doors onto a baffle below for the bar staff to move them in the basement cellar.

A very efficient way to deliver beer! My guess is these will completely die out over the next few years.
