Wise Owl

Saturday wasn't any less busy than Friday although I managed to sneak in a little trip to get my grey bits done ! Now I look 26 again ! What a relief.

A lot of running about again, and a trip over to my mum's house to pick up the Grandmother Clock. We agreed that this would be the last item to be taken out of the house before it goes up for sale. It WAS my grandmother's, and has a very distinct and comforting 'tick' and 'dong' !

If I ever phoned home and spoke to mum, I always heard the clock in the background. Almost like a heartbeat. Seemed fitting to take it out last.

No 3 came along for the ride. She hasn't been here since mum's funeral 2 years ago - and didn't seem upset about an empty house. I first slept in my old bedroom when I was nearly six (similar age to No 3 now) - and I remember it vividly. We had a hidey-hole in the skirting board. Just as I left the room, I checked for any leftover secret messages - and found a handful left by my sister and brother over the last 13 years or so.

It made me cry. No 3 was lovely...she is wise beyond her years. " but Mum we have loads of good memories...do you want a cuddle?".

We popped in to see Mr and Mrs Tickles (surrogate grandparents). Mrs Tickles bought herself a little reminder for Mr Tickles - here it is !

Wise words indeed!
