Had our first proper house party on Saturday night, which was well overdue! Thought we'd been fairly considerate leaving a note in the entrance to warn the neighbours that we were having people over, but apparently not as they immediately threatened to call the police once it got to midnight. Kind of understandable, except for the fact that most people probably wouldn't turn up until around midnight... Essentially we chose to ignore it, and people began to turn up in their droves. When you live with five other people who each have their own group of friends, it turns into a pretty big group. Particularly when you start to factor in how many people ask for plus ones, and how many just bring one anyway. Luckily we have a big house with a big basement, so we just moved people downstairs, thought we could maybe hide everyone from the neighbours/police. But of course they turned up eventually and put a stop to the party. They didn't give us a fine, although did want to know just how many people were in the house. Cesar claimed 20... Not sure how far they believed him as a never-ending stream of people poured out the front door to stagger on to their next venue.
