The fates v magic and sparkle?

Three weeks ago, Mum had an accident and probably broke her right little finger. She opted to say nothing and carry on as if nothing had happened. The finger is swollen and very painful.

Today we went to see our GP and thence to A & E (with special dispensation although the injury is old) and to xRay, back to A & E for strapping. The next step is an orthopaedic appointment because they are not sure if the fracture is into a joint.

Outside A & E is a stunning embroidered wall hanging made by the Hexham Embroiderers' Guild for the opening of the new hospital. Mum contributed to this and was just standing remembering which part is hers. It announces, "See how the Fates stitch the threads of our lives".

My alternative blip was an M & S window which says Believe in Magic and Sparkle". Which of these religious philosophies better suits our age?

PS I will be in trouble for including Mum in the blip - too late now!
