Ceann Loch Fin

I went from home to Portavadie this morning and took the first ferry across Loch Fyne to Tarbert on a day's journey that took me right round the upper reaches of this very big sea loch - a fjord really !

After a press call for the new Kintyre Way sponsorship scheme, held on the ferry pier, I drove to Inveraray (via Kilmory Castle at Lochgilphead, the Argyll & Bute Council HQ) for what turned out to be a most informative and very absorbing event organised to launch the Argyll & Bute Delivering Choice Programme, a wonderful palliative care and end of life partnership between Marie Curie, the Council, the NHS and care home providers.

I held a surgery in Inveraray afterwards which lasted about an hour and a half and then drove round the top of the loch - seen here from Inveraray (and available large ) and hence the title - on my way home.

A day of great variety and interest in beautiful surroundings for it was a remarkably still and clear day on the water as well as being very chilly indeed.
