Disabitato
I've been reading Robert Hughes' book on Rome: the ancient city of the Emperors crumbling under Renaissance palaces and churches, Trajan's column being topped, by Sixtus V, with a statue of St Peter, plus the disabitato, the wrecked and abandoned areas of the city.
So here is a modern version of disabitato, this time of dumped lorries and farm machinery, bags of solidified concrete, one or 2 green bales of hay and lots of corrugated iron. I find it hard to believe that in a place like Winchester, where land has such value, there are still people who can be so oblivious to the unproductive, and so create these wild landscapes - but I have to say, sneakily I rather love it!
Hey ho, down to earth, what does the rest of the day hold? Work and choir - well, that will be fun! Enjoy yours xx
