Story Sack!
I don't actually have too much of a problem with waking in the night with Eva. Obviously I'd rather she didn't, but to me, it's all part and parcel of being a mom, which is by far the best thing I've ever been. She doesn't wake loads anyway, typically it's once or twice. It is tough however, when she wakes several times, and each time, it's literally 10 minutes after you've just gone back to sleep. That's what happened last night, about 3 times. Feeling very tired today.
We went off to Stay and Play at 10 this morning, and they had a little section of the room making story sacks to the book 'All Aboard'. The story is basically about getting all aboard different modes of transport, so there's a car, a boat, a rocket, a hot air balloon, a train and a submarine. I was in my element decorating the pillow case and colouring in the rocket lol, Eva sat and watched and tried to put as many pens and crayons in her mouth that she could reach lol. I did try and get her to colour in the rocket, but no, she just wanted to eat the crayons, so I did it. If we'd been at home, I would have persevered, but there were other children waiting to do their story sacks and we'd have been there all day. She loved seeing all the children as she does every week, and she had her cracker and raisins at snack time, and took a turn pulling out an item from the song sack, and chose a fishie, so we sang One, Two, Three, Four, Five. I carried her from and back to the car too, as her car seat is just way too heavy now with her in it, and she loved it! She was all happy and smiley and clinging onto me as we walked along, looking all around her.
Eva only had just over an hours sleep at nap time today, so again not as long as she normally sleeps, on top of a very unsettled night. However, she was surprisingly cheerful when she woke up, despite rubbing her eyes and yawning a lot :-(. Eva and Jake played together when Jake got home from school, I filmed a video of Eva putting Jake's blanket over her face and pulling it back off herself as Jake asked, "Where is she then?" We play that game a lot and she loves it. Well, she's always put things over her face ever since she's been really tiny, she's so funny.
I sat with her and read her story with the items from her story sack to her then, she liked looking at the pages in the book and chewing the foam car, but the best bit was the hot air balloon, there's a deflated balloon in the story sack and I blew it up as the story said "all aboard the hot air balloon" and as it went "whoosh whoooosh!" I let it go, and it went whizzing all round the lounge. Eva was all surprised and wide eyed and trying to follow where it went, it was very funny xxx
