Mastitis :-( and Supreme Cat Show with Jolene
Oh my god, I felt so ill as I woke up this morning. I felt like I couldn't get out of bed. I was shivering cold, aching all over, could barely lift myself up or move, and my left boob felt like it had been battered with a hammer. Jolene was picking Eva and I up at 11 to go to The Supreme cat show at the NEC, but I didn't see how I was going to make it. Mike brought me a coffee in bed, then took Eva to get her washed and dressed, then brought her back to me in bed for her milk. He then took her downstairs for her oats and apple and her toast, while I dragged myself out of bed to get ready.
Jolene arrived with her friend, Jackie who is lovely. Straight away Eva was all smiles. We got Jolene's car loaded up with Eva's pram base and pram, then managed to manoeuvre Eva in her car seat over the passenger seat into the back, and we all crammed in. We just about did it lol. As we were walking round the cat show, Jolene was helping to keep Eva entertained and shaking her rattle, and singing to her loads, The Wheels On The Bus was her favourite, Eva was loving her Aunty Jo :-) and I really appreciated Jolene's help, especially as I felt so horrid. It was lovely to see some friends at the show such as Mandy, Wayne, Steph, Josie, John, Caroline and Tracy. Eva was an absolute joy the whole time there, and only started to cry on the way home in the car, so we all sang nursery rhymes in unison. She was absolutely shattered, poor babba. She usually has her sleep around 12 ish, but it was 2.30 by this point and she'd not been to sleep yet. I did try and recline her pram at the show so she could try and get some sleep as we pushed her round, but it must have been jammed, as none of us could do it. As soon as we got in, I took her upstairs, changed her nappy, gave her some milk, and she was spark out within minutes. She slept for 2 hours.
I was back to feeling really terrible again when we got back, so while Eva slept, I went up and ran myself a hot bath. It didn't help much. I was freezing. I put my cosy onesie on and just lay on the sofa after my bath. Eva had got up by this point, and I came downstairs to Mike and Eva munching on prawn crackers from the night before's takeaway (today's pic).
Whilst Googling my symptoms later on, I discovered I had mastitis, and it's rubbish! I went to bed early again and was out for the count by about 10pm. Xxx
