Flowers from a Cousin
So today I was at T.J. Max looking for some stretchy pants. (I need something to wear while I do my laundry in the morning.) I found a frame ($4.99) that said "Cousin" and then had the definition - you know, you've seen them - for words like "love", "sister", "friend" - but cousin... Really? I think we know why they made it over to the T.J. I laughed so hard and then immediately bought it, because the only thing more ridiculous than the fact that there is a cousin frame, or that it had the literal definition of the word is that I bought it and framed a picture of Jess and me from this weekend and gave it to her tonight. She laughed as hard as I thought she would.
The picture is of some flowers that she bought me yesterday. I love fresh flowers. Like, I could spend a lot of money on flowers and I am really, really picky about them. So it was a bold and brave move by Jess, but an act of sweet and tangible love. I woke up to them this morning and they just made me happy. Don't flowers have that tendency? What is it? I don't know and I don't care, I just love them. The moral of the story - someone in your life that you've been appreciating lately and haven't managed to get it into words? Go grab some flowers and hand them over. I promise - you'll make their day - and every day after until they're gone.
