Ben Vane...... the smallest Munro.....

Last evening I was helping at the Girl Guides in the church, they were learning some Scottish dancing, and a great time was had by all, but what a noise!!!!
I was exhausted!

So it was reluctantly that I got out of bed..... early..... today to go walking. The day was not too good, a bit of mist and moisture around, although not actually raining. It stayed like that all day.

We walked from Inveruglas on Loch Lomondside up to the Loch Sloy Dam, then down the beautiful Glen Loin to Arrochar, and from there followed the very mountainous path over to Tarbet where we finished and had some drinks at the hotel.

My photograph is taken right at the start of our walk, of Ben Vane from Inveruglas.
This beautiful mountain is part of the Arrochar Alps in the Southern Highlands. The South side is very steep while the other sides are much easier to climb. The mountain offers fantastic views to Ben Lomond, Loch Lomond and Loch Katrine with its surrounding summits such as Ben Ledi. With a height of 915m Ben Vane is the smallest Munro.

Home to a very quick dinner (thank you slow cooker) and then out to our club AGM.
