A rather varied day: meeting about Scottish Borders Cultural Strategy, shortlisting for interview, listening to Parliamentary Committee, downloading Scotland's Future.

Also a trip, in the pouring rain, to the ENT outpatients dept at Lauriston Place - where I've been a regular visitor for some time as I have 'recurrent nasal polyps' which every now & then need an operation to remove. Also had a hearing test. Then the nurse from Audiology sat me down outside the ENT consultant's room to wait for him - 25 mins later I asked an ENT nurse if she knew I was waiting there & not in the waiting area. She didn't. A very quick chat to a consultant who, for once, didn't spend too much time explaining all about my 'condition', nasal passages, etc - simply prescribed some pills & arranged an appointment for me with my own consultant to discuss surgery. Refreshing.
