M was my wake-up call this morning, which was a nice way to get up. It’s a day of exams for him today – he’s not too worried, though. I decided to have breakfast at home for once, as I was walking myself in rather than getting a lift. My Mum makes the best-ever scrambled eggs; perfectly cooked every time and never ever rubbery. The last time she was up I asked her to show me how she does it – the key is apparently to melt butter into the pan first. Today, I managed to make them just like her… They were brilliant! Totally worth a mention in my Blip today :o)
At lunchtime I took myself off to the gym for a Tabata class, then booked some train tickets to go home next week – excited! The rest of the afternoon was spent working on a scoping report for a proposed development, and I managed to get it finished before I headed home.
I made myself an absolute mountain of cous-cous-stuffed-aubergine for tea, gave Mum a call and then retreated to bed to watch 24 Hours in A&E on the iPad with the electric blanket on. Had a call from M before I went to sleep; his exams went well (he scored 100% in two of them!) and he’ll be driving home tomorrow afternoon. Can’t wait to see him, I’ve missed his face.
