Lockheed AC-130

Caught this just before it disappeared into the cloud, thought it was quite a spooky shot which would go with what is a very spooky plane.

The AC-130 is a gunship variant of the C-130 Hercules Transport plane. These versions however carry 40mm Bofors cannon and 105mm Howitzer mounted on the port side. It was designed as an Air to Ground weapons platform.

It was too far away to get the tail number but the small bumps just in front of the tail give away its heritage. Different versions exist with names like Spectre, Spooky II, Ghostrider and Stinger II. I would definitely not want to be on the receiving end of one of these planes in anger.
