Hello!
I took a wander around the raised beds this morning, to see what the Galanthus and Hellebore were up too and I was pleasantly surprised!
Barely visible from a few metres away, I noticed a small glimmer of life peeking through the black soil and bent down to take a closer look.
There it was, a Helleborus orientalis.
These plants produce white or greenish cream, saucer-shaped flowers, from now until mid-spring. Just wonderful to see it having emerged so recently.
They originate from Greece and Turkey and are interestingly adored by the Japanese, who will go to all out to get their hands on them!
