A RICH MAN'S DREAM

This mini castle erected by a rich benefactor in the late C19th (and now converted to flats) is witness to the wealth generated in our town during the industrial revolution; sadly things have now changed and although there is much new housebuilding and even another large supermarket about to open next week, the town of Kirkcaldy enjoys scarce a shadow of its past self and I might have to move West to seek my fortune--- perhaps to Cowdenbeath as did my Grandfather about the time this house was built. Now, this latter sentiment is a bit of an in-joke appreciated only by locals so apologies to folks further afield!
Ps My grandfather built three houses in Cowdenbeath, without such flamboyant architectural statements, but I might proudly feature them in a future Blip.
