Red Rose

Up until now any close up work in my workshop was with one desk lamp and a piece of white card. I splashed out today on a second desk lamp (£7.50). I'm now playing with 2 lamps!

When my wife retired a few weeks ago she had lots of flowers which included a few miniature rose bushes. We planted these in the garden rather than see them die immediately. One of them is still flowering. I've cut one rose from the bush and lit it with the 2 desk lamps. This is a straight image with just a little bit of sharpening.

I did try various f stops and came down in favour of a limited depth of field with a wide aperture.
