A tale of two boots

OK I admit it - this is an emergency Blip but there is a funny story to tell.

We have just got back home after a couple of weeks in Keswick. We were joined by our friends Pete & Gill for some fell walking. When they arrived they had left Gill's boots behind. (of course it was Pete's fault - as I always say ' a mans place is in the wrong')

Anyway Gill hired some boots from a shop in Keswick which was fine and we did several fell walks.

On Wednesday we walked up Causey Pike and on our arrival back in Keswick Gill got her hired boots out of the back of my car and returned them to the shop. They then set off back to the midlands.

We weren't returning home till Thursday so we took all the stuff out of the car into our cottage. 'Whose boots are these?' asked Jane when I handed her boots to her.

We then realised that Gill had taken Jane's boots back to the hire shop!

Fortunately we were able to go into the shop on Thursday morning to do the exchange. They admitted to being a bit puzzled as they thought they didnt hire out that brand.

The good thing was that they had cleaned and polished Jane's boots
