When in doubt, try a selfie. No point in searching around for a suitable subject when there's one right in front of your nose, or behind it to be pedantic. Haven't tried a self portrait for ages. The D7000 makes it much easier because it focuses when the remote release is pressed. Doesn't make the subject any more photogenic though. That would take more than technology I think
