Winter Sun Surprise
I needed to be out early not to be somewhere but just to be anywhere. I needed to think, I needed to to try an clear my head and see where my road was going to lead me, I have always taken the path less travelled, for no other reason than it afforded me the company of the few, the people who I know care about me and shared my journey with me for no other reason than because they wanted to.
I once told one of my friends that if he got to 40 and could count the number of true friends on more than the fingers of one hand then he was a lucky man, he scoffed at me, he laughed that he had lots of friends but I didn't think he quite got my point. Many years later when his father passed away, he told me he finally realised how true that statement had been!!!!
That anecdote is an aside, I went and sat by the river, even in the dark I enjoyed thr tranquillity, the solitude and silence and the lights reflecting from the north shore on the stillness of the water.
My friends reads me like the pages of a favourite book, the book
where even although you know the story you are compelled to turn the page and so it was this morning. Again they calmed me and again the sound of their voice, gentle yet strong, quiet but with a power they don't even know they possess. These past few days I would not know what I would have done without that support, so once again I can only thank them for being there for me no matter what.
I hope you like today's shot, not the river but one of my other favourite places, the beautiful colours of a winter sunrise, so brief, so bright and so very beautiful, well I think so! I hope you enjoy the shot,
