Along the Nooksack

Today Arvin, Helena, Lynda, my brother Steve and I all went for a long drive up towards Mount Baker. Our goal was Everybody's Store on Route 9 but we wanted to take the scenic route. So we drove up Mt Baker Highway to Truck Road where we headed off toward the Nooksack to see if any eagles were there. No eagles but the day was beautiful and this was the view we got at a pull out spot we know where eagles are often found. It wasn't even all that cold!

We then drove all the way down Mosquito Lake Road to Route 9 and up to Van Zandt where we stopped at Everybody's Store. We love that place. Amy was there when we got there and Geoff arrived just as we were leaving. They are the owners and are friends. Geoff sings with the Whatcom Chorale where I used to sing.

It was mid afternoon and we were all hungry so we went back to the highway and drove up to Glacier where we stopped at Milano's for a yummy late afternoon meal. They are so good at what they do!

We drove home and played Mexican Train before Steve headed home and I went down to work on my blip. This is an HDR photo from six shots. Looks good large.
