Perfect Start

From the moment I got up I knew there was going to be a good sunrise. There were just the right amount of clouds and not too many of them on the south eastern horizon

When I got down to the river the pink clouds were beginning to develop and there was a lovely crescent moon in the blue sky to the west. I had already settled on this shot but took a walk down to the beach to try and get a different landscape from usual. However the colours weren't as good and I made my way back to the house.

Fortunately, I had a last look round before leaving the river and this is what I saw. The clouds were illuminated with the pink light and put on a great performance.

The perfect start to a day!
