The Langdale Pikes

..from Elterwater this morning. Everywhere we turned today there were photo groups with tripods! We staggered an impressive 6 miles laden down with equipment from Elterwater via Skelwith Bridge and into Little Langdale. Sadly we didn't get around to eating our packed lunches as the cafe at Skelwith Bridge waylaid us with its excellent selection of giant cakes. We then managed to go wrong twice on the way to Slater Bridge in a truly spectacular display of navigational skills which involved rivers flowing in the "wrong direction" and unexpected quarries! We walked the last leg from Little Langdale in semi darkness having realised that both of our head torches (along with their sparkly new batteries) had been left behind where we are staying. Don't think I will be getting my Mountain Leader qualification any time soon....
