The craft market at Lansdown Hall

We woke as planned far too early this morning, as far as I am concerned. But we had agreed to be at Lansdown Hall by 8am. Needless to say we didn't arrive there until 8-30am. The consolation was that there was a beautiful pink and red dawn sky which we wouldn't otherwise have seen.

My colleague, Amanda, who is the mayor of Stroud, had organised a craft market in the hall in order to raise awareness of the changes that we have been managing ever since we bought the building a few years ago to make it the community hall for the town. Amanda and I are both on the council working group so we are directly involved in all the fundraising and planning issues that are ever present.

Woodpeckers had decided to have a stall at the market and has been very busy for several weeks planning and then making her aromatherapy products. She used to regularly have stalls at various venues and events but hasn't done so for quite a while.

It turned out to be a very social day and I think Helena thinks it was worthwhile, as she made contact with a few new customers who were interested in her products and hopefully they will keep buying for several years to come. I hovered about all morning taking some pictures for our archive which can be used to promote the building. I met some old friends as well as some new faces, and heard how impressed everybody is with the work that has been done, and the plans for improving the facilities once we raise the money. Woodpeckers can be seen in a white cardigan behind her table talking to a couple of customers in her inimitable jovial style. I was glad to be able to share a bit of the day with her.
