Ridley Road Market

This gentle lady is the third generation at least to be running the egg stall at Ridley Road Market. She remarks without rancour that the market has changed a lot from her grandfather's day when stallholders and customers alike were pretty well all native born Cockneys. It is now a vibrant mix of nationalities, races and credes offering a huge variety of products to meet the needs of the customers. My daughter Rose, who lives a few yards from one corner of the market, is delighted with the opportunities she has to sample all these different cuisines.
