Not the Burj...

Portsmouth's Spinnaker tower. Thought about posting a photo of D enjoying a fairground ride at the dockyard Victorian Xmas market. Or of HMS Warrior (1860 - Britain's first iron-hulled, armoured warship) against the sunset. But decided on this to contrast with all the blips I've seen of the Dubai Burj!

Cold today but sunny. The dockyards had reindeer and 'snow' so D was happy. There was mulled wine and hot turkey rolls so we were happy. Nice to get the train in the opposite direction to London for once - D was a bit confused by that as he's used to a daily commute in.

I'd won a family ticket to the Christmas fair which included entrance to everything in the dockyards. Fun day out, but I wouldn't recommend visiting at this time if you really wanted to see all the ships - there were huge queues for Henry VIII's Mary Rose and Nelson's Victory. We decided to keep those for another day.
