A tableful of cheer
I was u and about early, and worked from 7.30 to 10.30 or so before getting ready for this week's music session. I'd been offered a lift, and didn't say no, so I was ready and waiting at 12.30 for the trip up the road.

Today's host lives in an apartment block on the Malahide Road. Some residents have access to parking spaces in a car park in the complex, but there is no provision for visitor parking during day-time hours. The management company responsible for the development have out-sourced the enforcement of parking restrictions, which have recently been reduced from a maximum stay of three hours to one of only two. There's a separate parking facility for shoppers, and our host usually recommends that visitors avail of this, and that's what my chauffeur decided to opt for. Imagine our surprise when we discovered that a 2-hour restriction has now been introduced for this facility also.
Having unsuccessfully tried a number of alternatives, and being all too aware that the out-sourced parking enforcers are notoriously conscientious and adopt a policy and clamp first and ask questions after, we finally had to phone the host and ask him to let us into his private parking space.
What sense does all this make? Are residents not supposed to receive visitors who arrive in cars? Are such visitors seriously expected to restrict themselves to a 2-hour stay? The whole thing is nonsensical.

The music session was enjoyable anyway, and the music successfully soothed the savage breast. It's normal practice to retire to a local hostelry afterwards, but it's unusual for everyone to go along. So today was a bit special, with all six session attendees opting to congregate in Campion's pub, just up the road. We had a good old natter and chat, and I got a lift home afterwards.
I had time for a bit of rest and relaxation and some listening to more music, after which I had to get back to work, successfully reaching a suitable point in the job to call a halt around midnight.
