I went to an event that was held in the Stamp Museum, which I had always heard was a beautiful building and very worthwhile museum (more than just stamps). On the outside it is quite nondescript, and I have probably walked by it a hundred times without realizing it. As with most buildings here, the beauty lies within. Lush greenery, fountains, sculptures, and quiet are often hidden behind high iron gates.
I meandered through parts of the small museum and found a room with this wonderful old counter. Behind it were what must have been some of the first typewriters and other fascinating equipment.
Many of these buildings have this type of tile floor.
I will return and take some photos of the lovely courtyards when there is no special event going on.
