Bald Eagle

Worth looking at full-size.

We were driving past Reagan airport at 50mph, on our way to Mount Vernon, when RTD said he thought he saw a bald eagle. 30 minutes and some detours later we finally got close(ish) to his perch, over a tidal basin at Roaches Run Waterfowl Sanctuary. This photo is cropped to within an inch of its life, as the eagle was probably about 50 metres from us, wedged between some apartment buildings and a highway.
