The Haining

This is a beautiful estate, just outside Selkirk in the Scottish Borders, which I had never visited before. The house dates from the 1790s. In 2009, the house and grounds were bequeathed to the people of Selkirkshire, and a charitable trust is now planning to restore the building. It does look better large.

It was a beautiful day as you can see - sunny and bright with very little wind. We finished our walk at the Waterwheel Cafe near Philiphaugh - definitely recommended!
